Vacation in the U.P.

Decided to take a quick break on client photos and share with you some of my personal photos from a recent trip that my husband and I took last week.

For those of you who don't know, I also have a day job aside from making badass photographs.  I work at Cake Nouveau here in Ann Arbor.  Last week, the boss decided to close up shop for a well needed vacation…best. idea. ever.

Since the hubs and I haven't really gone on a vacation (we really didn't even have a honeymoon because I was still in school…i still am, but more on that later), we thought it would be a great idea to just get away from the world.  So we hit up Mackinaw, Mackinac Island, Munising, and Marquette, Michigan.  LOTS of Ms.

Here's a few photographs from the trip that I hope you all enjoy :)

The indian head at Pictured Rocks

Waiting for fireworks in Munising.  This photo was taken at 10:45pm, NO JOKE!!! SO bright still!!

Mackinac Island…yes, this is a person's home!!

Waiting for our Ferry on Mackinac Island

Presque Isle

We were scared for the storm headed our way…and we were camping in a tent!

We got to see Pictured Rocks taking new form!!  Rock in mid-fall :)

Ryan & Sarah

Sarah and I have been in photo classes together for the last few years at Saginaw Valley.  She has been my partner in crime, my go-to gal for assignments, questions, and couch crashing.  When she told me about Ryan, I could tell just by the way she talked about him that he was different.  She blushed, gushed, and smiled every time.  When she began planning their wedding on Pinterest, I knew she was serious about him.

Finally, Ryan popped the question earlier this year, and I have been thrilled to watch their love grow together and bloom into something that is only ever seen in fairy tales.  Ryan is Sarah's prince charming, forever and always.   I loved getting to photograph their wedding shower!!

There is a story behind this cow creamer...

Sarah's beautiful sisters

Reading the card her sisters made for her to go with her present...

A family recipe cook book that Sarah's mother was working on before she passed away.  Her sisters completed the recipe book and gave it to Sarah as a wedding gift.  Makes me cry every time I look at this photo!!

I told you they were adorable!

I have loved getting to know this gal and I am so happy we are friends!   Congratulations, Sarah and Ryan!  May you live happily ever after <3

Hurst Family

Remember my friend Hannah I told you all about?  Well, this is her equally as wonderful sister, Becca!!  She and her husband Adam loved little Theo's photos, they wanted some of their own :)

In the short time that I have come to know this little family, I already adore them.  They are all super kind, sweet, and up for anything!  Such a blessing to have such a beautiful family to photograph <3
